About Me
My name is Erin Butler and I am the owner of Canine Precision. I have been involved with dogs and dog training as long as I can remember. I grew up learning about Retriever Field Trials while watching my parents and grandparents train and compete in the sport. I even ran some of our dogs in our clubs informal trials as a child.
I became involved in 4-H and the dog project where I started training and competing with my dogs in Obedience, Agility, Rally and Showmanship. I went to the Minnesota State Dog Show to compete after showing at the county level many years. My last years as a 4-H member is when I started training the other youth involved in the project. After I graduated out of 4-H in 2010, I became a leader for the Crow Wing County 4-H Dog Project Development Committee and have been training the youth in all the 4-H disciplines ever since.
Outside of 4-H I have competed with my dogs in Obedience, Rally, Retriever Field Trials, Agility, Nosework and FAST CAT.
I started getting back into competition outside of 4-H with my Labrador, Watson, by competing in rally. Watson completed his Rally Master title. I also ran Watson in Retriever Field Trials.
I am currently competing in sports with my Belgian Malinois, Nyx. She has titled in Obedience, Rally, Nosework and FAST CAT. We are currently getting ready to compete in Agility.
I have just started a new Labrador puppy, Sherlock, who will be primarily competing in Retriever Field Trials.
I am an AKC Evaluator for the S.T.A.R. Puppy classes, Canine Good Citizen title, Advanced and Urban Canine Good Citizen titles, and the Virtual Home Manners program.
